Setting up your first Gmail account

Get started with Zunkk by connecting your Gmail account in just a few simple steps.

Before you start: Make sure you have a Gmail account and are signed into it. Zunkk uses secure OAuth 2.0 authentication, so you'll never need to share your password.

Step 1: Sign up for Zunkk

  1. 1. Go to the Zunkk dashboard at app.zunkk.app
  2. 2. Click "Sign in with Google"
  3. 3. Choose the Gmail account you want to connect
  4. 4. Review the permissions (Zunkk only requests read and send access)
  5. 5. Click "Allow" to complete the connection

🔐 What permissions does Zunkk request?

  • Read emails: To analyze and categorize your messages
  • Send emails: To send AI-drafted replies (only when you approve them)
  • Modify labels: To organize emails with categories like "Urgent" and "FYI"

Step 2: Initial setup

Once connected, Zunkk will begin analyzing your recent emails to understand your communication patterns. This process takes about 2-3 minutes for most inboxes.

What happens during setup:

  • Sender analysis: Zunkk learns who your important contacts are
  • Pattern recognition: The AI identifies your email usage patterns
  • Category creation: Smart labels are set up in your Gmail
  • Initial categorization: Recent emails are sorted into categories

Step 3: Review your dashboard

After setup completes, you'll see your Zunkk dashboard with four main sections:

🔥 Urgent

Time-sensitive emails that need immediate attention

📋 Important

Important but not urgent messages

📰 FYI

Newsletters and informational emails

📱 Social

Social notifications and low-priority messages

Step 4: Train the AI

The AI categorization improves over time, but you can help it learn faster:

Training tips:

  • • Move misplaced emails to the correct category
  • • Star truly important emails
  • • Use the thumbs up/down feedback buttons
  • • Be consistent with your corrections in the first week

Troubleshooting

"Connection failed" error

Solution: Make sure you're signed into the correct Gmail account and that you clicked "Allow" for all permissions. Try signing out of Gmail and signing back in.

No emails appear in categories

Solution: Initial processing can take up to 5 minutes for large inboxes. Refresh the page and wait a bit longer. If the issue persists, contact support.

Want to disconnect an account

Solution: Go to Settings → Connected Accounts and click "Remove" next to the account you want to disconnect. This will revoke all permissions.
